It is with great sorrow that we share the news that our friend, Dr. Edith Kwobah, passed away from complications from her cancer on March 22nd, 2024.

Dr. Kwobah was truly a magnificent psychiatrist, friend, teacher, leader, mother, and wife. Her commitment to helping people living with mental illness inspired her to be a leader in the MTRH Mental Health Department and create the AMPATH AYAM Mental Health Care Program. She was committed to improving access to care and treatment to improve Kenyans' health and well being. Her passion for her patients and work motivated many of us to join in her vision. We can only hope that we can carry her vision forward in her name.

For many of us involved in AMPATH, Edith was an inspiration who fueled our enthusiasm to continue investing in our work.
