U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Visits AMPATH Program

In December, the U.S. Ambassador to Kenya, Kyle McCarter, his wife Victoria, and representatives from USAID visited Iten County Referral Hospital in Elgeyo Marakwet County, which hosts one of AMPATH's Comprehensive Care Clinics.

During the visit Ambassador McCarter attended the HIV Exposed Infants (HEI) graduation which saw 139 babies exit the PMTCT (Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission) program HIV-free. He also met with some of the youth and Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC) caregivers providing care in the county.
