Dr. Mamlin was one of the original four Indiana University School of Medicine faculty members that traveled to several developing countries and selected Kenya and Moi University as the partner for IU. He and Sarah Ellen first lived in Kenya in the mid-1990s, while Dr. Mamlin served as the Team Leader. When they returned there in 2000, they saw a country changed by the HIV epidemic and set to work. Now, Dr. Mamlin jumps out of bed every morning, ready to go and smiling.
